There is no us, it's me!
I've had an interest in computers and computing since a very early age when I got my very first home computer, an Oric-1 (which I still have) I then progressed to a Sinclair ZX Spectrum 128K +2B (the B meant it had a built in RAM drive you could save programs to).
At College I gained the City and Guilds 2240 Electronic Servicing qualifications (Parts 1, 2 and 3).
I then began working in IT (in one way or another) circa 1996 where I was selling IBM Compatible PCs at ESCOM (UK) Ltd. I then moved on to DSG Retail Ltd as the Business Centre Manager (selling PCs, Fax Machines etc.) at my local Currys Superstore (as ESCOM had gone bust), until I finally got a 'proper job' working as an IT Technician in a College of Further and Higher Education and I've not looked back since!
I love a good Car Boot Sale and it was at a Car Boot Sale I came across a seller with a dozen or so really old laptops. They were just £1 each so there was no need to negotiate, I just snapped them up and went on my merry way. After dropping them off at my car I happened to be passing his stall again and low and behold a new pile of retro laptops appeared - it never crossed my mind to ask if he had any more and he couldn't work out why anyone would want so many old laptops that may or may not work!!
Needless to say I did finally ask this question and it turned out he had a whole garage full of over 400 of them so I snapped those ones up to! After a discount for buying so many the aver price for over 400 vintage/retro laptops was just £0.76 - yes, just 76pence each!!
