The first thing you need to do is remove the keyboard by pressing the 2 keyboard release catches as shown here:
You then need to remove 2 screws:
You can then slide the CD-ROM drive out:
That's it! The CD-ROM drive has now been removed.

ReplyDeletedo u have some drivers for this Laptop? Im restoring the exact same Laptop right now but havent got any drivers with it ;)
Appologies for the late reply but it was stuck in spam - you can get all the drivers from www.archive.org from the Compaq FTP repository.
Delete
