The CMOS batteries for the Toshiba 2140CDS are still readily available on eBay and Amazon so I purchased a few of them a while ago so now it's time to get it fitted!..
First things first, we need to get the laptop open!
Removing the Keyboard:

Removing the screws from the top cover:

Removing the Battery and the Hard Disk Drive:

Disconnecting the cables:

The CMOS battery is hidden under a plastic flap at the bottom left hand corner of the laptop but you'll soon spot it as it has 2 wires (black and red) coming out of it:
Don't throw away the old CMOS battery just yet as you may need it!!

A bit of splicing, some solder and heat shrink tubing (and some double sided tape to hold it in place) and we're done!

Now to put it all back together!
