Windows XP Standard Build V1

Operating System

• Windows XP Pro (Including SP3)

Drivers

• Install the Chipset drivers first ensuring you restart/reboot your computer when they are installed
• Next install the VGA Drivers (for no other reason than it will look nicer and therefor be easier to nivigate Windows XP!
• Install all the remaining drivers
• Reboot/Restart you computer once all the Drivers have been installed

Windows/Microsoft Updates

DO NOT CONNECT YOUR XP MACHINE TO THE INTERNET UNLESS YOU HAVE SP3 INSTALLED AND PERFORM THE FOLLOWING STEPS ASAP TO REMAIN SAFE

1. Open up Control Panel and turn Automatic Updates Off and then back On again
2. Wait for the automatic updates to download an update to the Windows Update Agent
3. Click on the yellow exclamation mark on the taskbar near the clock to update the Windows Update Agent
4. Repeat step 1
5. Wait for approx 130 Windows Updates to automatically download
6. When the download is complete, Shutdown (and install the updates)
7. After the updates have installed the computer will shutdown so power it back on
8. Run Windows Updates from the Start menu
9. Install Microsoft Updates
10. Run Microsoft Updates from the Start menu
11. Install all updates (except for Microsoft Security Essentials and Windows Live Essentials as there are no more updates for Security Essentials and Windows Live Essentials will fail as Microsoft have removed the install files from their website)
12. Restart if required
13. Repeat steps 10-12 until no more updates left to install
